BD03 - Azurite - SOLD
Tsumeb Mine, Otjikoto Region, Tsumeb, Namibia
Size: 10.2 x 5 x 2.9 cm

What a fantastic Tsumeb azurite! This gorgeous specimen features several sharp and exceedingly lustrous azurite crystals in a slightly diverging crystal cluster. The azurites show the distinct and highly appreciated elongated crystal shape, individuals reach 8.9 cm in length and 1.2 cm in thickness. When backlight most of the crystals glow in a shiny and deep blue along the edges! The termination faces are cascading down on the front face, forming a very aesthetic and well-balanced composition. Close to the bottom some malachite and dolomite matrix is attached, and the very bottom side was altered to malachite, all well-formed and crystallized. There is some small damage present in places, but this is truly a very minor issue in context. The crystal cluster displays very well from the back side, too, and it is in fact an amazing mineral treasure from this defunct locale!
