BS09 - Spinel - SOLD
Mogok, Pyin-Oo-Lwin District, Mandalay Division, Myanmar
Size: 4.3 x 3.7 x 3 cm

This is a huge and very impressive spinel crystal of connoisseur quality level. The colour is a very pleasing and interesting mix of magenta and hot pink, very uncommon and rare. The modified octehedron is pristine all the way around, it is a full floater and well crystalized on all sides. However, i think the most important feature are its marvellous growth patterns. Numerous triangles and other rounded structures grace all the sides. A rare Mogok beauty at its best!

This fantastic rubellite specimen is well known from the Denver Fine Mineral Show poster 2018. The colour is a deep and intense magenta-red, very typical and distinctive of this famous rubellite pocket collected by Ailton Barbosa in 1978. The aesthetics of this rocket-shaped crystal is just breathtaking, and it is very showy from all sides. A perfect rubellite for all connoisseur collectors of tourmaline! Remarkably the crystal has no repair and no restoration.

A very large 3.5 cm doubly terminated realgar crystal sits perfectly centered on a matrix made of stibnite and calcite. The specimen is a floater and perfectly crystalized on all sides. Oliver had bought the entire pocket of these wonderful realgar specimens when they came out, and he had kept this amazing miniature specimen in his private collection for good reasons.
