WOW! What an amazing tourmaline specimen from Malkhan! Several side crystals enhance the predominant position of a large and fat center crystal. Razor sharp terminations, fantastic colours and superb luster all around, what a dream for every advanced tourmaline collector! Remarkably there is zero damage!
The matrix is nearly formed like a ball by tiny Feldspar crystals – they are white with touch of yellow and a significant dark stripe in the middle – even for a feldspar collector this would be an exciting specimen. On it an etched Tourmaline, etched and crystalized again – same effect as Volodarsk Heliodor. That is very special – usually an etched crystal would not be on Feldspat, the etching process would bring it off the matrix. Nearly all etched Tourmalines (and also these famous etched Auqas) from Brazil are always single crystals and not on matrix. The crystal (about 40 mm tall) shows uncountable sharp faces which are all highly lustrous, very uncommon habit for tourmaline. Also remarkable is the colour. At the base it is yellow to light green and at the top is shows cognac like colour, nearly orange. Yellow and orange are most rare for Tourmaline! Overall a great rarity, very unusual and great visual impact, very showy in several positions, colourful – an eye catcher and - although I did a good job with photography - it is better in person.
The crystal shows a pyramidal end-point and sharp termination. It is highly lustrous all around. Clarity and translucency are exceptional for Malkhan and the color is very uncommon, too. The lower third shows a yellow-brown color, the middle is lighter and shows less saturation, the upper third appears in dark pink, nearly red color.
A sharp termianted and water-clear smoky quartz with dark green and intense pink inter grown tourmaline crystals at the base. A very aesthetic assemble! No significant damages to rport, bottom was extracted from the rock.
A group of 3 glossy crystals, all sharply terminated. They show attractive pastell colors - pink in the center; mint-green outer zones. The base is partly covered with lepidolite. The assemble looks very aesthetic all around. No significant damages to report, bottom was on the rock.
Parallel inter-grown crystals with pyramidal end-points give this "V"-formed shape to the specimen. The crystals are very translucent, they show blue green color with tones of nearly yellow along the end-points. Complete and lustrous all around, only bottom was extracted from the rock. This very unique habit makes the specimen stand out the crowd!
Great classic specimen! The inter-grown crystals show pink phantoms and blue-green zoning along end-points and edges. Where the crystals collide you also can see a group of violet lepidolite, which gives even more color to this impressive group.
Two parallel inter-grown crystals in perfect quality: lustrous, sharp terminated and gemmy from bottom to top. They show a sky-blue color and modified end-points. No significant damages to report.
A novelty from a small discovery in 2018. The specimen shows light pink color and sharp terminated green cap. The faces are all highly lustrous, the carity is like glass - please note that it doesn´t need any backlight to show these colors; the quality is as good as it ever could be. Most specimen from this discovery were only single crystals - this one is a group of two larger crystals with one smaller in the center - this indicator makes it even more special. No significnat damages to report, bottom was on the rock.
A very uncommon specimen for the locality - it shows a mush-room like assemble, the colors are steel-blue to lavender, but the most amazing indicator are these incredible modifications at the end-point. There must be thousands of tiny faces; texture and stratiation are wonderful. The contrast to white matrix is fine, too! I fine condition damage-wise, only botttom was on the rock. An old label comes with the piece.
A glossy greenish octahedron perched on two parallel inter-grown balck tourmaline crystals with green zonings at the end points. The tourumaline crystals are sharp terminated and lustrous. Nice contarst and very aesthetic assemble.
A huge massive rubellite set on light smoky quartz. The tourmaline is 71mm tall, 54mm from left to right side and 45mm from front to back - this dimension and the volume are mind-blowing! Also the color is exceptional - much more intense as we usually know from the locality. The faces are lustrous and the contrast to smoky quartz is really amazingly delicate! No repairs, no damages - just perfect!
